The Imo State Commissioner of Police has re-appointed CSP LINUS Nwaiwu the current D.P.O. Mbaitolu as the new head of anti-kidnapping. CP who made this known said that is in the bid to reorganise the system for maximum results that Nwaiwu is brought back to serve in this capacity and he maintains his stand to rid the state of criminals in whatever disguise and make life bearable to Imolites, and he called the citizens to continue to support the command.
Mr Nwaiwu who is a graduate of law from Imo state university in his speech said today is my 5th day in the office as the OC anti-kidnapping, two days ago we rescued one Mr. Solomon Nwagwu in Orji and the kingpin One Izuchukwu arrested too, also this morning, based on intelligence from our technical partners we arrested one George, (aka Bush), the most notorious kidnapper along Mbaitolu/Ikeduru axis of the State was also arrested.
He has master minded many kidnap cases, and immediately he was arrested he knew it was up so he cooperated with us and took us to their hideout where we arrested his gang members after exchange of a gunfire. You can see the kidnaped victim blindfolded and chained,they have the key to the padlock with which they chained him.
Mr Nwaiwu has served in various capacities before now and some of them are: PPRO Imo state command, OC anti-kidnapping,office of the Inspector General of Police , Enugu Police Command before his current appointment.
He continued, almost all the people involved this crime are known to us and are ready to root then out with the assistance of the Commissioner.
Imo State Deputy Governor, Engr. Gerald Irona said everyone involved in crime in the state must be made to face the law.
Youth are warned to stay off crime of any kind.
