IS ENUGU THE BEST AND MOST ORGANISED STATE IN SOUTHEAST? Pscnewsblog

I traveled to Enugu yesterday to do some business, of course you Enugu has been my city before I came back to Owerri, It was great seeing my old friends, visit all sites to see the latest developments. Indeed my curiosity was satisfied seeing that Enugu was not short of what it used to be, infact many new things has been put in place in terms of good roads, infrastructures, rural electrification and other things. If you are in Enugu and later visit other states in South-East you will ask yourself if Enugu is in Nigeria and if other State like Imo and Abia were receiving the allocation from federal government every month. Among other things three things that caught my attention most were1. Traffic light and commuters: every road in Enugu has a traffic light at every junction, cross roads and likes, there visually no traffic officers at each of this points. Yet all motorists are disciplined including Government officials, the Governor not left out. They strictly and patiently obey the traffic lights at every point in time. They cue in lines according to their directions until the traffic light shows green to each side it’s their turn to move. Nobody was in in a haste, nobody was too fast to overtake the other, no driver abuses each other or have rift with traffic offenders bcos there is no need for that since they know what to do at same time. And like I said the Governor as I observed obeyed the traffic too and same with his officials, and this have not reduced his status or make him less a Governor but has elevated him in the sight of his people as a man who leads by example have earned their respect.2. The smoothness of their roads: all roads in Enugu metropolis was built by for Governor chime surlivan who handed over to the incumbent Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi(GBURUGBURU). Yet all these roads are still strong without potholes, smooth, clean and free from ₦50 collection POLICE MEN. Even in few places where there are bumps like independence layout it was done with cement, but with rubber fixed on the tared road and it’s height is very low. Now my question is why has these roads 12 years after remains strong and motorable as if it was built few days ago? What orientation did they give to their people especially their motorists that made them patient enough to obey all rules? Why are their no police presence collecting ₦50 from motorists?3. Transport fair it’s so minimal and pocket friendly: their buses are very neat, with their conductors friendly with passengers, they usually cracks jokes that keeps you smiling till you get to your bus-stop, or the driver playing soft tunes to keep you relaxed while on transit. Always calling your bus-stop one after the other repeatedly so that you don’t forget, even if you are a stranger in Enugu nobody will know notice it because the driver and his conductor will drop you at the right bus-stop and even help put you in another bus that will take you to your destination if the need be.Again the transport fair there is almost free, yes I mean almost free, because you can visit places and come back without without your pocket tearing. For instance I paid #30 from carwash along presidential road to NTA along Esuth gate, which will cost me #100 if in Imo state or Abia State, from same NTA to new market is just ₦70 which ordinarily should have taken ₦150 from me if in Imo or Abia, are you surprised? Yes it’s true. Now one of the things I discovered about Enugu State is that they believe in continuity and definition of purpose, their people comes first in their agenda. Among other things.
Some of the places visited includes:ESBS ROAD, AGRICBANK BUS-STOP, PRESIDENTIAL ROAD, BISALA ROAD, NEW HEAVEN JUNCTION BY OTIGBA, OGUI JUNCTION BY EMENE, ABAKPA JUNCTION, OKPARA AVENUE, HOLY GHOST AMONG OTHERS AND THE STORY IS THE SAME.
Try and visit Enugu.I urge the sitting Government in Imo and Abia to take pride in making this two state great like or even more than Enugu.
God bless Enugu State
God bless South-East
God bless Nigeria.
